Golden Triangle
7 Days - 6 Nights The historic cities of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur
combine to provide travellers with a glimpse into
the majesty of northern India. This tour encompasses
India’s Golden Triangle and has a wealth of
architectural and cultural splendours.
In Jaipur, the ‘Pink City’, you will
marvel at the Hava Mahal (Palace of the Winds) and
the City Palace with its fascinating armory and
museum. A definite highlight will be the thrilling
elephant-back ride upto the dramatic hilltop fortress
of Amber. Enroute to Agra you will visit the deserted
Mughul city of Fatehpur Sikri. This massive complex
was abandoned due to a lack of water. Even toDay,
it stands as a testament to the master builders
of the Mughal Empire. Finally, in Agra we will explore
the Red Fort with its complex of palaces, moats
audience halls. Of particular interest is the marble
balcony, from where the imprisoned Shah Jehan looked
out at his stunning creation, the Taj Mahal.
ITINERARY IN DETAIL
Day 1 : Arrive Delhi
On arrival at Delhi International airport, special
welcome by Worldwide Adventures India representative
and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2 : Delhi
Your full Day tour of Delhi will comprise of the
Red Fort, Jama Masjid Mosque, Raj Ghat (where Gandhi
was cremated), the Ashoka Pillar and the mile long
Chandni Chowk Bazaar. After lunch you will drive
through New Delhi, a city designed and built by
the British in the 1920s. Historically significant
sights include India Gate, President’s House,
Emperor Humayun’s Tomb and the Qutab Minar.
Evening, enjoy a special welcome dinner.

Day 3 : Delhi - Jaipur (Approx.
265 km – 5 ½ Hrs. drive)
After breakfast drive to Jaipur. En route, stop
at the 400 year old Samode Palace, which has a wealth
of frescoes, many depicting religious themes, and
a vast Durbar hall. After lunch, continue to Jaipur
and transfer to your hotel.

Day 4 : Jaipur
Morning Ride by elephant high up to Amber, a spectacular
fortress - palace, protecting a complex of palaces,
temples and apartments with exquisite marble and
mirror inlaid halls. After lunch commence tour of
Jaipur, also called the ‘Pink City’
due to the rose coloured sandstone used in the construction
of the older part of the city. You will see the
‘Hawa Mahal’, a high and intricately
carved wall behind which women of the court were
sequestered while watching processions. In the city
palace, you can view an excellent collection of
Rajasthani costumes, miniatures and an armoury of
Rajput weapons.

Day 5 : Jaipur - Agra (Approx.
260 km – 5 ½ Hrs. Drive)
Early morning depart Jaipur, driving through the
fascinating countryside, to the beautiful walled
city of Fatehpur Sikri built to commemorate the
birth of Akbar's son. The building of this capital
was substantially completed in 1574 but 14 years
later it was abandoned, perhaps at the whim of an
imperial favourite or because of a lack of water.
As a result, the immense labour that went into building
the " City Of Victory’ was wasted. Visit
the redstone mosques, courtyards and the palace
where Akbar once played chess using slave girls
as pawns. Afterwards proceed to Agra.

Day 6 : Agra
Agra with its laid - back life style and immense
wealth of architecture, handcrafts and jewellery
is amongst the most remarkable cities of the world.
The sightseeing tour starts from the Taj Mahal -
the most perfect architectural monument in the world,
erected by Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite
wife, Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Begun in 1632, completion
of the white marble edifice required the work of
20,000 men for 21 years. You will also visit to
Agra Fort, representing the architecture in the
periods of the three great Mughal Emperors.

Day 7 : Agra - Delhi (Approx. 285
km – 6 Hrs. drive)
Morning drive to Delhi. En route visit Sikandra,
situated across the Yamuna River, which enshrines
the tomb of Emperor Akbar. Continue on to Delhi
where rooms have been reserved for wash and change.
Later, after a farewell dinner you will be transferred
to the International airport for flight back home.
